Our climate is two extremes: dry 100-degree summers and wet winters. Finish choice is where those extremes get handled.
Broom finish
The workhorse. Excellent wet traction, hides wear well, lowest maintenance, and the coolest of the common options in lighter colors. If you want it done once and forgotten, this is the default.
Smooth finish
Clean and modern indoors and under cover. Outdoors it gets slick in winter rain, so we generally steer homeowners away from it on driveways, walkways, and pool-adjacent patios.
Stamped and decorative
The biggest visual upgrade, with real upkeep attached: resealing on a schedule, and traction that depends on pattern and sealer choice. Worth it when the look matters and you'll maintain it.
Sealing for 100-degree summers
Valley sun fades color and degrades sealer faster than most homeowners expect. We hand you a resealing schedule at the final walkthrough rather than leaving you to find out.
The compromise we recommend most
A broom-finish field with a stamped or contrasting border. Most of the design impact, most of the low-maintenance benefit.
