Process

Our Concrete Project Process

Four steps, from the first form you fill out to the final walkthrough — and exactly what you do versus what we do at each one.

01

Walk & Vision

A free on-site walkthrough. Sione walks your property and goes over every option, finish, and design detail. No pricing games over the phone — real numbers require seeing the site.

You
Show us the space and tell us how you use it.
Us
Measure, check grading and drainage, talk through finishes.
02

The Written Proposal

One written proposal covering permits, labor, materials, cleanup, and finishing touches, with the scope defined in plain language. Anything unforeseen is explained and approved by you in writing before we proceed.

You
Review the proposal, ask anything, decide with no pressure.
Us
Put the scope and inclusions in writing.
03

The Milestone Build

The project runs in phases, billed against the milestones in your proposal, with progress photos at every stage.

You
Review each phase and keep the site accessible.
Us
Demo, prep, form, pour, finish — with photo updates at every stage.
04

The Final Walkthrough

We inspect the finished pour together, the site is left clean, and we review the completed scope against your proposal.

You
Walk the finished work with us.
Us
Clean the site and review care and curing with you.

Communication

You'll never have to chase us.

Photo updates at every stage — demolition, prep, forming, reinforcement, the pour, and finishing. You review each completed phase before it is billed, so you always know where the project stands and what comes next. Concrete work is weather-dependent; if weather affects your pour, we contact you with an updated schedule as soon as we know.

In writing

Written Project Standards.

Written proposal with defined scope

Every project begins with a written proposal that defines the scope of work and what is included.

No changes without your written approval

If something unforeseen comes up, we explain it and get your written approval before any work or cost changes.

Milestone-based billing

Billing follows the project milestones set in your proposal. You review each completed phase before it is billed.

Photo updates and schedule communication

You receive photo updates as the work progresses, and we communicate schedule changes as soon as we know about them.

Craft

Common pitfalls — and how we avoid them.

Drainage and grading

Most concrete failures are water failures. We set slope deliberately and plan where the runoff goes before a single form goes down.

Curing in Sacramento heat

Concrete poured in 100-degree weather can lose water too fast and weaken at the surface. We schedule and cure around our summers, not against them.

Protecting adjacent surfaces

Stucco, siding, landscaping, and adjacent property get protected before demolition, and we talk through access and staging with you first.

Jointing

Concrete moves. Control joints decide where it cracks — we plan the layout with you rather than letting the slab choose.
